Hugh-Baby's BBQ & Burgers Celebrating One Year in Charleston

West Ashley Eatery Offering Up Birthday Cake Milkshake as Well as Signature Menu Items

Jeff Walker, Restaurant Review Update

With little fanfare aside from introducing a new Birthday Cake milkshake to the menu, Hugh-Baby's BBQ & Burger Shop celebrated it's first year (January 2023) in Charleston recently. The burger and barbecue spot born out of Nashville by famed restaurateur and founder Pat Martin is a throwback to the everyday comfort food served in small town diners and roadside eateries of yesteryear.  aaaaaaaahughbabyshake

While typically categorized as a fast food joint, Hugh-Baby's menu, preparation, and customer service suggest they are far from ordinary. Although guests can enjoy a selection of fresh made premium all beef burgers, they have a variety of options not normally found at long running fast food franchises.

Here are some of the unique menu choices that might excite the kid in you at Hugh-Baby's. Not many of the chain burger places serve up a Fried Catfish Sandwich breaded in cornmeal, a Pulled Pork Sandwich, Smoked Turkey Clubs or a Slaw Dog. If you really want to go old school, order their signature Fried Bologna Sandwich adorned with mustard, pickles, and onion.

Hugh-Baby's Double Cheeseburger is a 'double the fun' all beef twin patty sensation that closely resembles the ever popular smash-burger, complete with pickles and onion. It's definitely a two or three napkin handheld delight. aaaaaaaahughbabybolo

Enjoy your fries plain or blanketed under chili and cheese. Wash down your meal with several backyard favorites including iced tea, fresh squeezed lemonade, or your preferred Coca Cola beverage. Maybe go full tilt like those malt shops of a bygone era, and enjoy your burger or hotdog with a cold house-made milkshake.

While the birthday cake milkshake might be around for a short run, Hugh-Baby's BBQ & Burger Shop plan to serve Charleston for years to come, and are more than happy to welcome burger lovers looking for a break from the everyday fast food cycle. Visit them at 1028 Saint Andrews Boulevard in West Ashley. Open 11AM - 9PM seven days a week. For more visit https://www.hughbabys.com/charleston
