Brad & Jennifer Moranz Committed to Showcasing Remarkable Talent, Providing Extraordinary Holiday Experience

Jeff Walker, Entertainment Writer

You've heard it said 'it's the most wonderful time of the year'. There is something really magical about Christmas and the whole holiday season. While we seldom have snow at Christmas time in Charleston or the Carolinas there is one thing we can count on each and every year in the low country, and that is being wonderfully entertained by Brad and Jennifer Moranz, as they host the Charleston Christmas Special at the Charleston Music Hall.

Young and old alike know that the yuletide holidays do not begin without our annual Christmas present from Brad and Jennifer. The husband and wife team have been delighting audiences over several weekends in December for close to three decades in the Holy City. Their passion and commitment to 'Vegas' and 'New York City' style performances remain unparalleled.

Seeing one of their two hour shows is equivalent to catching a performance at Radio City Music Hall or any of the renowned theatres in Branson, Pigeon Forge or Myrtle Beach. Brad & Jen's Christmas specials are a throwback to a simpler time when great holiday TV specials from Andy Williams and Bob Hope filled network television time slots, providing great entertainment for the entire family. aaaaaaaabradjenny2

Not only do Brad and Jennifer act as your hosts but they provide old school song & dance alongside comedy from yesteryear. As they always do they assemble several of the best entertainers working today, some living right here in town while others come from across the country. The combined talent, experience and enthusiasm from the cast including several spirited teenagers provide a holiday show that appeals to kids from six to 92.

Among the cast are crowd favorites singer & ventriloquist Michael Minor, alongside singers Tiffany Parker and Matt Shingledecker. Returning to the cast after a long hiatus is Charleston native Angela Michelle Walker who made her Broadway debut in Rocktopia in 2018. Dancers Addison “Addie” Collins and Silas Moody-Laird bring the youthful element to the special. 19 performers as well as eight musicians will thoroughly blow you away with their talents, and totally put you in the Christmas mood.

The reason the Moranz' call it a 'special' is because it's not an average show. It's an extraordinary event that takes place during the month of December allowing for 10 performances including two matinees. For many who reside in Charleston the Charleston Christmas Special is the beginning of the holiday season, with hundreds of people returning year after year.

As Brad says, “Why do thousands of people come back year after year? Because it’s never the exact same show. The only thing that’s the same is the intention. It’s meant to give you the same experience, but the show itself is different year after year.”

Brad adds he has only one goal in mind when presenting the annual special. “Jenny and I want you to leave the show feeling better than when you came in. Every moment is designed to do that.”

Seniors and baby boomers enjoy the Christmas Special because it takes them back simpler times when the world didn't move at a frantic pace, and younger audience members embrace the holiday show because it is new to them. The Charleston Christmas Special is a show you can bring grandma and your six year old to. It's G-Rated family fun that embodies the true meaning of Christmas alongside treasured holiday favorites. Santa, Rudolph, Frosty, and the birth of a savior are all celebrated during the Charleston Christmas Special.

In the 21st century where life is often fast paced, the Charleston Christmas Special is a welcome relief, and one family and friends will say years down the road 'remember when?'.
