If you heard about Charleston, you know that it's seen as one of America's most historic cities. And that kind of reputation, you don't get by accident. When you visit the place, you can see right away that it goes back centuries. But, how much do you know about its past?

Every Mercury reader knows the story of The Old Man and the Sea. A fortunate few of
us got to know him, and his story is no fish tale. Harry Locke Johnson, Jr., known affectionately
by generations of locals as Captain Harry, was born in Charleston in 1929.

I am so excited to spotlight one of my favorite restaurants in Summerville....DRUMROLL.....Sunrise Bistro, which is located at 110 Miles Jamison Rd.  This hidden gem is a MUST VISIT!  They are a breakfast/lunch restaurant with great prices and a lip smackin’ menu selection.  The hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 7am to 2pm and Sunday, 9am to 2 pm (843) 225-6201.
