Sunrise Bistro - Summerville

I am so excited to spotlight one of my favorite restaurants in Summerville....DRUMROLL.....Sunrise Bistro, which is located at 110 Miles Jamison Rd.  This hidden gem is a MUST VISIT!  They are a breakfast/lunch restaurant with great prices and a lip smackin’ menu selection.  The hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 7am to 2pm and Sunday, 9am to 2 pm (843) 225-6201.  When you enter, you are greeted by friendly staff and a wonderful, almost retro ambiance. The service is quick and attentive. The food is consistently excellent and the menu offers a vast selection of your morning and lunchtime favorites as well as a few hidden gems.  My all-time favorite is the Pork Chop Breakfast. Yes, you read that right. The pork chop is seasoned and cooked to perfection. This juicy chop is served with grits or potatoes, 2 eggs, and your choice of toast. Their in-house, roasted coffee has become a customer favorite. You can purchase a bag (or two) of their coffee on the way out also.  This restaurant really makes you feel right at home.  So many customers have been frequenting them for years, and not just because of the amazing food, but, because you feel like family with them. They have been supporting the local community through sponsoring baseball teams, soccer leagues, donating to high schools for banners and yearbooks. But one of the most important and very special causes Sunrise Bistro supports is bebe beans, premium Columbian coffee, that has tasting notes of Cocoa and Graham Crackers. Yes, your cup of coffee is superb, made in house, and serves a greater good.  The purpose behind bebe beans is to rescue trafficked, abandoned, homeless, pregnant girls, and give them a safe place to have their babies, while teaching them a skilled trade.  When you enjoy just two bags of this coffee, you are giving one girl one more day of safety, saving her and her baby from an uncertain future.  You can learn more at www.bebebeans.com

Owners Jessica Welenteichick and Brian Appelthas own all three local Sunrise Bistros. 1797 Main Rd. Ste A – Johns Island (right near Angel Oak) and another in Mount Pleasant, 1039 Johnnie Dodds Blvd- Unit 12.  Top Sail in Mt Pleasant, 440 West Coleman Blvd. serves lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch.
