Doar Bros. Offers Big Flavors, Creative Cocktails in Cozy Space on Meeting Street

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Walking down Meeting Street, you may just miss it. Doar Brothers is tucked into a small space but is packed with big flavors.

Owner and Chef Jonathan Doar started his culinary training right here in Charleston; across the street at the Peninsula Grill.

From there, he made stops in New York, Italy and Seattle before returning to the Holy City to create his own menu, which has been influenced by each stop of his journey.

Doar’s menu includes comfort food like truffle mac and cheese and bread pudding.

You can also get truffle popcorn for just $5.

Behind the bar, you’ll find well-known mixologist, Megan Dechaine. Her creative cocktail menu includes a boozy soda called the “Mary Moultrie”. It’s tribute to the civil rights activist.

If you can’t decide between a drink and a snack, try the “Doar Brother’s Manhattan." It’s topped with a piece of seared duck!

Doar Brothers opens at 4 p.m. on weekdays and 2 p.m. on the weekend.
