Under Music Director Wynton Marsalis, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO) Septet performs a vast repertoire, from rare historic compositions to Jazz at Lincoln Center-commissioned works.
Originally scheduled for April 10th, the performance has shifted into two socially distanced performances on April 23 and 24, 2021 at 7:30pm. A live stream of the April 24th concert will also be available to purchase.
A few of the included compositions and arrangements are originally by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Fletcher Henderson, Thelonious Monk, Mary Lou Williams, Dizzy Gillespie, Benny Goodman, Charles Mingus, and many others. The upcoming performance showcases the JLCO Septet with Wynton Marsalis in a rare small-group configuration that will leave audiences inspired and uplifted with the full vigor, vision, and depth of America's music.
