Jim 'n Nick's, 288 King St & 4964 Center Pointe Dr

Barbeque is a word that, when heard, causes every Southerner's (or anyone who calls themselves a Southerner) mouth to water. Pulled pork, smoked chicken, beef brisket, pork hot links…it's enough to make your stomach protest and demand some good eats from Jim 'n Nick's!

While Jim 'n Nick's Bar-B-Q is a chain, the three South Carolina locations (Charleston, North Charleston, and Bluffton) are locally owned, so you can feel good paying the tab at the end of the meal.

The North Charleston location, which opened in 2008, has a convenient drive-thru for those days when you only have a thirty-minute lunch but can't pass up mouth-watering barbeque.

The downtown location opened in 2005 and has quickly become a favorite of tourists and locals in the immediate area.

If you have a large family, Jim 'n Nick's has just what you need—a BBQ Pork Dinner for a four-person family, complete with two pint-sized trimmings, and twelve biscuits or six buns—all for just $22.99. And that isn't the only family dinner available—you can choose from the BBQ Chicken Dinner, Beef Brisket Dinner, or Spare Rib Dinner for up to eighteen people (might be just the thing you need for that next house party!)

But if every person in your family wants to get their own delicious meal, don't sweat it—there are plenty of affordable options for adults and kids alike.

Kids twelve and under can choose from nine tasty options ranging from a classic pork sandwich, classic spare ribs, and smoked chicken drummies to kiddie classics like a grilled cheese sandwich, scratch-made mac and cheese, and (as always) a cheeseburger. All items on the kids' menu are under $5.00 and include a free drink.

The big kids (a.k.a. adults) have even more selections to consider. Of course, there are the typical barbeque offerings such as a barbeque sandwich, barbeque plate, or combo featuring pulled pork, pulled chicken, turkey breast, beef brisket, pork hot links, ribs, and more.

But if you're in the mood for something different, you can get that at Jim 'n Nick's, too. They have a ton of other options such as the Pig in the Garden Salad, Pimento Cheese Sandwich, Pig in the Potato Patch, and other cleverly named selections. And what makes this food so delectable? To start with, everything is made from scratch every day. You can't quite beat that.

But it's not just about some awesome barbeque at Jim 'n Nick's. The restaurant supports quite a few local charities and events including being part of MUSC's Charleston Miracle Network and helping to support the annual Ravenel Bridge Run.

Hit up the restaurant's website and Facebook page for more info, and keep their accurate slogan in mind as you browse their menu: "Made with Passion, Served with Pride."
