Inc. has released its list of the country’s top 500 fastest-growing companies, and South Carolina is proud to be represented by eight of those businesses. In even better news, three of the companies are local to the Holy City!

The magazine releases its top 500 list annually, and goes as far as to analyze 5,000 of the nation’s top-growing small businesses. The companies are ranked depending upon the change in revenue growth between 2008 and 2011. While only eight Lowcountry businesses made it to the top 500, forty-one South Carolina companies were represented on the top 5,000, which is quite a feat for our state.

The top company in Charleston was BoomTown, a real estate software company that experienced an impressive 3,085% increase in just three years.
