The Battery Information

Today the area known as The Battery is now called White Point Gardens. It is filled with huge oak trees, monuments, memorials, and a bandstand. The park offers views of Fort Sumter, scenic homes and much more. The area was originally established as Fort Broughton, followed by Fort Wilkins, then it became a park and finally a Confederate artillery battery during the Civil War before becoming the park you see today.
