Tristan describes itself as "Simple, Modern, Unexpected...and unforgettable," and we have to agree. The architecture and style echo Charleston's rich Southern history while the modern décor invigorates and delights. The entire atmosphere of Tristan is centered around mixing known experiences to create new sensations - right down to the chairs. Elegant white tablecloths are greeted with boldly patterned wooden chairs. The careful eye can spot many types of materials in the dining room that give a deep depth of texture, organic colors, and pleasing contrasts.
Executive Chef Nate Whiting bring a prestigious background to the restaurant, having worked in some of the country's top kitchens. After finishing at Johnson and Wales University he logged hours in Peninsula Grill in Charleston, The Inn at Little Washington in Virginia, Maestro in Washington, Da Vittorio in Italy, and The Dining Room at Woodlands. Throughout this journey he has developed techniques, tricks, and pairing ideas that he has truly put to the masses at Tristan. His style is best described in his own words - "the simple sublime." His recipe for success is based on using simple ingredients, but making sure to use the freshest seasonal and combining them in unique and inspired ways.
